Cool Uno Motorcycle Seems to Ride on One Wheel
Written: September 13, 2008
Like the Segway, the Uno is an electrically-powered, gyro-controlled device but way cooler. Invented by an 18-year-old Canadian, the Uno rides on independent side-by-side wheels and can reach 25 mph. No word on if or when the Uno might hit the market.

F1 Provisional Calendar
Written: August 20, 2008
New Wrinkles, but No Surpises . . . Yet
The provisional 2009 Formula One calendar has been released. The season will kick off as usual at Albert Park in Melbourne, but not until March 29, the latest series start in two decades. At the same time, the ...
F1 Teams to Strike?
Written: August 20, 2008
The buzz at Magny-Cours in late June wasn’t about next year but about the next few races and how a possible drivers’ strike might affect them. At issue ostensibly was the superlicense fee structure that went into effect this year. In 2007, a superlicense cost €1,690 plus €477 for each ...
Fin de Mi Siecle 1-Tail Fins at Hershey
Written: August 20, 2008
While mid-century Americana is not our bailiwick, regular readers know we look high and low for things to amuse you. And if we can sniff out a good road trip, we're all over it. A case in point is a current exhibit at the Antique Auto Museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania. ...
Fin de Mi Siecle 2-Tail Fin Stamps
Written: August 20, 2008
The impact of tail fins is not lost on the US Postal Service. It will offer a commemorative stamp series called "America on the Move: 50s Fins and Chrome" starting in October. The series features five illustrations by artist Art M Fitzpatrick that depict a Chrysler 300C, Lincoln Premiere, Pontiac ...
Fin de Mi Siecle 3-Nesstalgic Bikes
Written: August 20, 2008
Farther afield than the tail fin exhibit at Hershey but still in keeping with the theme is the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum just east of Columbus, Ohio. On exhibit are the awesome choppers of Arlen Ness—hence the show's title, "Awesome-Ness." What makes Ness unusual (if imitated) is that some ...
Maserati Looks Fine in '09
Written: August 20, 2008
As a Founding Father might say, Maserati has formed a more perfect product line. And like a proud dad itself, the company is showing off photos of the new Quattroporte, revised for 2009. As it turns out, the QP has a fraternal twin in the Quattroporte S. That car shares ...
Summer Sizzle
Written: August 20, 2008
Carbecues, Smokin’ Open-wheelers, Aussie Run on Exotics
The boys at AutoWeek got to smokin’ something funny earlier this summer and put together a short list of car-like barbeque grills. While the Freedom Grill can be mounted to a trailer hitch, it puns on the opposite vehicular extremity ...
Website Official Launch
Written: July 15, 2008
We can now sympathize with the mom who’s just delivered a 14-pound baby. Our new website is online after months of gestation, and we’re relieved and elated. With three brands and four dealerships at two locations, plus a corporate entity and the content-rich environment of La Strada Maestra to deal ...
